WIN FOR MICK KELLY IN KILKENNY SHORT COURSE

Mick Kelly had a clear cut win in the Kilkenny 4km Senior Short Course Cross Country Championship at Sion Road Kilkenny on Sunday 14th of March and also led the Club Team to the Gold medals, He was well supported by David Farrell who showed a great return to form to finish 3rd, Derek Deevy finished an excellent 4th and Lyndon Barcoe 6th’ The Club ‘B’ team finished 2nd with Muiris Bric in 7th place he was also 1st over 45 Shane Noonan was 8th 1st novice to finish Laurence McGrath was 9th also 2nd over 45 and 4th scorer Denis Cormack was 12th, Mick Walsh won the over 55 gold just ahead of Marty Kelly who was 2nd over 55, Toddy Farrell won the Bronze medal in the over 50 grade.

In the Womens Senior 2km Championship Eleanor Kennedy Finished in 8th place and was 1st Novice to finish.
In the Juvenile Relays the Club Girls teams did well, The under 11 team of Nicole Carter ,Steffi Fitzgerald and Ruth Kennedy put in a great performance to finish 2nd. Heidi Sheridan and Sinead Bric ran on a mixed team that finished 7th, The Girls under 13 team of Kate Drennan ,Katie Quinlan and Aoife Naddy combined well to win the bronze medals, The under 15 team of Rebecca Kennedy ,Bella Lysaght and Niamh Walsh ran well to win the silver medals, In the Boys relays the under 11team of James English (who had a fall on the 1st leg) James Drennan and Cormac Nolan did well to finish 7th. The Boys under 13 the team of Thomas Bric, Conor Dwyer ,Sean Grace and Tyler Lennon finished a close 4th, Cormac Buggy ran on a mixed team in the boys under 15 event.

In the supporting races Tiffany Fitzgerald running in her 1st race put in a great performance to finish 2nd in the under 9 race and Reece Carter ran well to finish 16th, In the Boys under 9 race Conor Cleere put in a great finish to finish 3rd Felix Lysaght finished 7th and Brogan McAviney despite a fall finished 9th Seppi Lysaght had an easy win in the boys under 17 race and Kay Drea was second in the Girls under 17 event.
